The Innovative Systems Lab organizes targeted workshops that bring together the academic research community, technology vendors, and end users to discuss and steer the technology roadmap for newly emerging HPC architectures.
ISL staff have also guest edited special editions of Computer (March 2007, Special Issue on High-Performance Reconfigurable Computing) and Computing in Science and Engineering (Nov./Dec. 2008, High-Performance Computing Applications on Novel Architectures).
Reconfigurable Systems Summer Institute
RSSI'05, RSSI'06, RSSI'07, RSSI'08
RSSI was held annually from 2005 through 2008. It was designed for scientists and technology developers from industry and academia to present and discuss new research on high-performance reconfigurable computing. RSSI'08 also included a tutorial for novice users about the use of FPGAs in high-performance computing.
Workshop on Programming Massively Parallel Processors
PMPP'08
Held in July 2008 in conjunction with the Reconfigurable Systems Summer Institute, this workshop brought together researchers, industry representatives, and users concerned with the issue of programming multi-core and many-core architectures for productive use in applications ranging from desktop to high-performance computing systems.
Workshop on Reconfigurable High-Performance Computing Technology and Applications
HPRCTA'07, HPRCTA'08
This workshop, co-located with ACM/IEEE Supercomputing conference, provides a forum for academic researchers and industry to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field, and to set a research agenda for the upcoming years on the use of FPGA technology in high-performance computing.
Symposium on Application Accelerators in HPC
SAAHPC'09
This symposium aims to bring together developers of computing accelerators and end-users of the technology to exchange ideas and learn about the latest developments in the field.
