Overview
The Health Sciences Group of the National Center for Supercomputer Applications is looking for a Graduate Hourly to work on the web-based interface for INDICATOR, a framework for monitoring the health of our community and detecting human and animal disease outbreaks. The successful candidate will work with a team of domain experts and database specialists to develop, test, and deploy presentation components for datasets as well as providing basic collaboration features.
We highly encourage applicants who are interested in data visualization and analytics and wish to contribute to an ongoing project with immediate impact.
Expertise helpful for this position
- Experience developing in Java
- Experience using SQL against common RDBMS
- Experience with XML, XSD, and XSL
- Experience developing web-based presentations
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills

The rate of pay for this position will be commensurate with experience and the student should be able to work 20 hours per week. This student will work on location at NCSA, 1205 W. Clark St Urbana, IL.
