Not unlike NCSA's high-tech environment, the University has 70,000 computer connections on the campus network. Over 130 buildings and 76 percent of all classrooms are equipped with wireless access. A five-year $20 million network upgrade is scheduled to be completed in 2009, and there are 10 gigabits-per-second redundant connections to major research networks and over 2 petabytes of storage space.
