Dave Turek, Vice President, Deep Computing & Web Servers, IBM Enterprise Systems Group
David Turek was appointed his current position in February 2000. He is responsible for Linux Clusters, Deep Computing Solutions, and Supercomputer Strategy. In 1999 he was responsible for Technical Strategy and business opportunity in IBM Server Group. From 1995 to 1998, he was the Director of Systems Development for the IBM RS/6000 SP, where he was responsible for the design and development of four generations of node (processor) technology, five operating releases, and two generations of switch technology. He joined the RS/6000 Division in 1992 and was responsible for the design and implementation of all RS/6000 SP software. He joined IBM in 1974 as a Systems Engineer and held a variety of technical and management positions within the IBM Corporation.
Turek has an M.S. in Mathematics from Trinity College (1976) and a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from University of Rochester (1972). He was also enrolled in a Ph.D. Program in Operations research at the University of Pennsylvania (1980).
