Where is NCSA? How do I get there?

NCSA is on the Urbana-Champaign campus of the University of Illinois. The address is 1205 W. Clark St., Urbana.

Air Transportation

Air transportation to Champaign–Urbana arrives at the University of Illinois' Willard Airport (CMI).

Other airports in the vicinity are: Indianapolis International Airport (IND), Indianapolis, Indiana (120 miles/190 kilometers away); O'Hare International Airport (ORD), Chicago, Illinois (140 miles/220 kilometers away); Midway Airport (MDW), Chicago, Illinois (140 miles/220 kilometers away); and Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI), Bloomington, Illinois (less than 60 miles/100 kilometers away).

You can also reach Champaign-Urbana via Amtrak train or Greyhound bus service.

Ground Transportation

Rental cars are available at all airports.

Daily bus service to and from O'Hare and Midway airports offered by Illini Shuttle and Peoria Charter.

Local bus service is provided by the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District.

Taxi service is available in Champaign-Urbana. The area is also an Uber community.

Internet Connection during the Einstein Toolkit School and Workshop

Wireless networking will be available in the school and workshop venues. If you home institution participates in Eduroam you can use your home institution's credentials, otherwise please use the IllinoisNet_Guest network. Remember to write down your guest access password.

Parking at NCSA

Metered parking is available near the NCSA Building on Clark Street, in the parking garage just north of NCSA, and on other surrounding streets. Rates are $1.00/hour, and all meters accept quarters, dimes, nickels and dollar coins. While you can park all day in the garage, time limits for surrounding streets are usually two hours. There is no attendant in the parking garage, but you do have the option to pay for metered parking in the parking structure by credit card by calling 1-866-234-PARK (7275); the garage is location 4801.
