Oct. 2-3, 2006
National Center for Supercomputing Applications
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Room 1030
1205 W. Clark St.
Urbana, Illinois

The workshop kicks off a new initiative on adaptive infrastructure sensing and information systems sponsored by NCSA and the University's Vice Chancellor for Research. The initiative will initially focus on integrated water management. An interdisciplinary team of faculty is holding this event to discuss possible synergies between the new initiative and water management activities in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Specific goals of the workshop are to:

  • Share information and identify critical issues related to water management in Chicago.
  • Identify whether and how emerging sensing and information technologies could benefit current and planned water management activities.
  • Discuss possibilities for new partnerships.

The workshop is scheduled just prior to the Illinois Water 2006 Conference (http://www.environ.uiuc.edu/water2006/), which is also being held in Urbana.
