Course information

Congratulations on being selected to participate in the 2010 Virtual School of Computational Science and Engineering (VSCSE) to be hosted by NCSA at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Here is some information you will need:

A block of dormitory rooms are being held at the Illinois Street Residence Hall (ISR). ISR is approximately 5 blocks from the NCSA Building.

Since these are individual reservations guests will have to make a reservation online. The rate for a single room (which is still a double room with two beds, but no roommate) is $41.82, and the rate for a shared room is $27.19.

The rooms come with sheets, pillow and blanket as well as towels which can be exchanged at the front desk.

If dorm life doesn't appeal to you, we suggest you contact the Hampton Inn for hotel reservations.

The Hampton Inn is located approximately 1 block from the NCSA Building.

Directions to the NCSA building

ISR has parking available in Lot D9. Parking permits can be purchased at the front desk when guests arrive:

Hampton Inn has parking at no charge.

Parking on campus is very limited. If you must park on campus, there is a parking garage just to the north of NCSA. It is an unattended lot and there are no money changers. The number of metered spaces is limited. If you choose to park there be sure and bring enough change, as we will not have change available.

Due to current economic restrictions, parking hang tags will not be available at NCSA.

Day meter permits from campus parking

Day Meter Permits are available at a cost of $9.00 per day and may be used at University meters only (not city meters or red 30-minute University of Illinois meters). University meters are designated by the block "I" displayed across the top of meter.
