TeraGrid conference seeks submissions on education, outreach, and training

The 2009 TeraGrid Conference (June 22-25, 2009) will showcase the capabilities, achievements, and impact of the TeraGrid in research and education. We are seeking submissions on innovative learning and workforce development efforts to prepare current and future generations to advance scientific discovery. Submissions are also encouraged that address the inclusion of under-representation communities including women, minorities, people with disabilities, under-represented institutions, and disciplines under-represented in HPC.

Submissions may address a broad range of EOT activities including:

• Projects to reform the integration of research and education from K-12 through graduate education addressing multidisciplinary new skills that will prepare students for competitive global markets of the 21st century, connect concepts across the curriculum inclusive of technology integration, discuss achieved or potential impact, and articulate future plans.
• creative and successful schemes for engaging today's youth, for partnering with campuses, for engaging and retaining under-represented communities, and for engaging new communities into high-performance computing,
• successful state-of-the-art strategies for advancing training on high-performance computing, petascale computing, grid computing, and cloud computing, and
• innovative and successful ideas for offering live, synchronous and asynchronous delivery of content to reach people that are separated by time and distance from the instructors and one another.

Accepted submissions will be included in the conference as 30-minute presentations.

Abstracts should be submitted as PDF documents at http://www.teragrid.org/tg09/submissions by March 20. Abstracts should be 1 page maximum; please include the names and affiliations of all co-authors, indicating which author will be presenting. Submitters will be notified of acceptance by April 24.

Final abstracts of accepted work should be provided by May 22 for publication on the conference website and inclusion in the conference program.
