Mahomet Aquifer dance to be performed Oct. 10-18

University of Illinois dance professor Jennifer Monson has scheduled a series of performances and other activities connected to the Mahomet Aquifer, a vast system that stretches across Illinois and provides water for Urbana-Champaign and other communities. NCSA's Advanced Visualization Laboratory assisted Monson by developing visualizations to accompany the dance she choreographed (Read more at "Reimagining Performance").

Upcoming events include:

• Saturday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m. to noon: Performance, Market in the Square farmers market, corner of Vine and Illinois, Urbana
• Sunday, Oct. 11, 6 p.m.: Performance, Prairie Fruits Farm Dinner (invitation only)
• Oct. 13, 7-9 p.m.: Panel Discussion Moving Perspectives — Approaches to understanding water through geology, environment, art and society, Urbana Free Library. 210 W Green St., Urbana
• Oct. 14, 2-5 p.m.: Performance, Mahomet Farmers' Market, Main Street near Town Hall and the Fire Station, Mahomet
• Oct. 16, 5 p.m.: Performance, Northeast Terrace of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
• Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to noon: Performance, Market in the Square farmers market, corner of Vine and Illinois, Urbana
• Oct. 18, 2-4 p.m.: Performance, parking lot on the east side of Neil Street between William and Charles, Champaign
