released 11.11.09
The Great Lakes Consortium for Petascale Computation will host an information session at SC09. The event will explain the consortium and how to collaborate with members on a wide range of projects. It will also include an overview of the Blue Waters sustained-petascale supercomputer that will come online at the University of Illinois' National Center for Supercomputing Applications in 2011.
The session will be held Monday, November 16 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. It will be in room B119 of the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
Everyone is welcome.
Universities, national laboratories, and other institutions join the consortium to develop new computing software, applications and technologies that target the most powerful high-performance computers. The consortium's comprehensive education and workforce training program makes sure that today's advances are passed on. The consortium also gives members special insight into the Blue Waters sustained-petascale supercomputing project.
