NCSA and SGI are hosting a conference and workshop in early May addressing capability computing on the NCSA Origin2000 system. Take a look at the conference announcement and the list of speakers to see if you or members of your research team would benefit from attending the two-day conference or the two-day workshop. §

VisAD
VisAD is a Java class library for interactive and collaborative visualization and analysis of numerical data. VisAD comes to you from the the University of Wisconsin-Madison and their Unidata Program Office. Can VisAD help you with your visualization projects? §

Neutron Star Visualization Techniques
Visualizing higher density "interior" and lower density "exterior" regions within the same representation required visualization expert Dave Bock to integrate different types of visualization primitives together in one scene. Bock describes the process he followed and gives hyperlinks to the resulting MPEG movies showing the collision of two binary neutron stars. §

A Case Study in Porting and Optimization: NCAR's MOZART
The MOZART 3D global chemistry simulation is a highly vectorized, multitasked code that runs at high efficiency on Cray vector computers. What steps are appropriate to move this model to an Origin2000? This case study walks you through the process. §

Testing the Mettle of an Origin2000
The NCSA Origin2000 hosted several recent benchmark and library comparison runs. Take a look at the results. §
