Apply Now for Summer Research Opportunity Internships
The Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) and the Alliance
Partners for Advanced Computational Services (PACS) are collaborating this summer
to offer a Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) to interest
talented
women and undergraduate minority
students in the computational sciences. The SROP is an excellent opportunity for
participants to enhance their
preparation for graduate study and academic careers through intensive research
experiences with faculty members.
Women and minority students with research interests in computer science,
computational sciences, chemistry, and mathematics are encouraged to apply. Use
the
forms
available online at the CIC website. The deadline for submitting applications
is May 14, 1999.
With funding from Alliance PACS partners and
other interested Alliance teams, CIC is extending their existing SROP to
include comptational sciences. Some Alliance-funded SROP participants may be
selected from those
students who have already applied
to the program by CIC's original deadline.
Faculty members who are current Alliance-allocated users and are
interested in serving as mentors for the duration of the 6-week program are encouraged
to contact CIC's Barbara Fossum.
