By trade, I am a technical editor and writer. In recent years, I have engaged in the following sorts of projects: The links below will take you to a sampling of these projects.

In more traditional environments, electronic publishing includes the use of electronic means to publish documents that are printed on paper and bound into volumes of varying shapes and colors. In our context, the term electronic tends to cover the entire life of the document. Most of my work is destined for the Internet (the World Wide Web, actually) or CDs; only rarely is a document published in a print format.

Recent major projects include the following:
Electronic Proceedings (Web): Proceedings of the
Second World Wide Web Conference '94: Mosaic and the Web

Electronic Proceedings (CD and Web): Proceedings of
 the 1995 ACM/IEEE Supercomputing Conference, SC95

Full-function prototype website:
Project COMPETE Web Site
An installation of the  NCSA netWorkPlace™, an online collaborative workspace, for the DoD HPC MP projects           (slides)
DoD HPC MP PET Web sites
Documentation for the HDF and HDF5 projects:
For example, the ever-evolving HDF5 document set
And a project that I'm really excited about but that is not yet ready
for public display. It is fundamentally different from the rest.

As you can imagine, we have learned a lot about Web presentation and navigation within a site over the past two years and enjoy projects where we can put new navigation ideas to work in a large document set. The ideal project is a large and diverse set of closely-related documents, such as a major conference proceedings with a variety of major and minor supplementary pieces or a reference site linking related yet diverse research and training materials.
