(a) Numerical investigation of fluid flow and heat transfer for multi-louvered fin array in compact heat Exchangers. Commercial CFD codes (CFX, GRIDGEN and FLUENT) and research CFD codes developed in NCSA have been employed for the detailed investigation of heat transfer and friction loss in multi-louvered fin array. Opitimal design parameters for this compact heat exchanger are also studied.
(a) Developed and verified a method and a corresponding software package for numerical simulation of incompressible fluid flows and conjugate heat transfer over complex geometries in Cartesian coordinates.
(b) Proposed a new treatment of pressure boundary conditions for incompressible fluid flows over complex boundaries on a non-staggered grid. Obtained good results with the method.
(c) Developed a method and a computer code for the automatic grid generation and numerical simulation of complex geometries in Cartesian Coordinates.
(a) Numerically analyzed the suction jet effects on high-performance airfoils and the results showed a great improvement in the airfoil performance by the addition of a suction jet.
(b) Numerically investigated an unsteady boundary layer and showed the relations and difference between an unsteady and a steady boundary layer
(a) Designed turbomachinery and conducted the experimental and analytic research.
(b) Optimal and computer aided design of water-jet pump and water-jet propulsion assembly, which won the YUNICA silver prize at the Yunica International Exhibition, Brussel, Belgium, January, 1990.
(c)Preliminary technical analysis of side propelled pumps system on a high speed airfoil vessel. The design and building of the vessel was recognized as one of ten most important achievements for shipbuilding industry of China in 1995 after serving on the route between Honkong and Marco for two years.
(d) Economical analysis of transportation of shallow-draught and full-lined ship suitatble for river-sea services.
(e) Research and design of movable protected bars for water-jet propulsion speed boat.
