MSS accounts, passwords, quotas, limits |
Your MSS login is the same as your NCSA production machine and/or
staff login.
MSS uses Kerberos passwords, so your MSS password is the same as
your NCSA production machine and/or staff AFS password.
You can change your password via a
secure web page.
Note: Since MSS uses Kerberos passwords, the above command will
change your password on all NCSA systems.
For best use of MSS, a 1 TB maximum single file size is recommended; in practice 500 GB would be optimal.
You have read-only access to your MSS account for 4 months after your
last NCSA Production machine account has been deleted.
You can access MSS directly from your local computer using SSH or a
kerberized
ftp client to mss.ncsa.uiuc.edu. Information on downloading kerberos is

Installing Required Encryption Software page.
