Documentation Library Service Package Information

The Documentation Library Service package provides functions that allow users to search, navigate, and read HTML documents that are registered with the library service. This is the library service for reading and searching AIX online documentation such as the AIX Library and application documents such as the Web-based System Manager's extended help documents.

The CDE Desktop icons and actions. This is installed by default along with the base operating system. Provides desktop icons and actions that launch the library service search forms. None
bos.docsearch.rte
Documentation Library Service
This server fileset performs the functions of providing search forms to users, searching the online documents, and providing links so that found documents can be opened for reading. This is installed by default along with the base operating system. IMNSearch.rte (NetQuestion Runtime Package Information)

Note: The above software needs to be installed to provide the search functions for the library service.

Approximate Disk Space Required

The Documentation Library Service, including corequisite software, requires approximately 35 megabytes of disk space to support a single language, and 70 megabytes of disk space if you install support for all languages.

Special Installation Notes

On client systems, you must also install a forms-capable web browser. On server systems, cgi-compliant web server software must also be installed, configured, and started. Additional configuration of AIX to make the library service work properly with the browser and webserver may be required if it was not factory configured.
