Uberftp

Uberftp v1.18 is now available on NCSA's SGI Altix system (cobalt). To use it,
add the following line in your .soft file before the @default line:

+uberftp-client

Enter the "resoft" command to begin using the new uberftp client. Version 1.18
has the following enhancements compared with the default (v1.10):

- The rm, rmdir, lrm and lrmdir commands now accept wildcards.

- Added a new environment variable UBERFTP_ACTIVE_MODE. If set,
it defaults to ACTIVE rather than passive mode which is
essential for good performance when using NCSA's mass storage
  system.

- The 'passive' command no longer toggles passive/active modes, instead
an 'active' command was added and each command sets (not toggles) the
  the corresponding mode.

- Added support for third-party striping. Since the client is
streams mode by default, you need to switch to extended block
mode ('mode e' or 'parallel x'). If the transfer has more
than one stripe, a message is printed informing you of how
  many stripes are being used.
