Scratch Configuration

We've standardized how the scratch directories are presented.

Some of them have been separated onto different filesystems and have been
presented in different directories/mount points.

They now are:

/scratch/users: This was formerly /scratch and contains the users
		  individual scratch directories.

/scratch/batch: This was formerly /scratch/LOADL and contains the
batch scratch directories. This is now on a different
filesystem from the individual user scratch directories.

/scratch/projects: This was formally /gpfs/scratch.res and contains the
                 project-based, longer-term, non-purged scratch space
available by request. See the news item Reserved_Scratch
for details on how to request space.

We suggest that your job scripts either make use of the $SCR variable or
the symbolic link in your home directory ($HOME/scratch-global) to refer
to your scratch spaces from within your job scripts. We make sure that
these methods will work.

Please correct any of your job scripts which may be referring to scratch
space in a way which is no longer supported. Thank you.
