This page provides information about the environment settings that the user
must include in their (.modules) file on the home directory in order to use the
Gridgen commercial CFD package on the SGI Altix UV (Ember) machine at NCSA.
In addition, it is recommended that the user
sends an email to flow@ncsa.uiuc.edu
indicating the intent to use this software. The login of the user will then
be included in the software access list. This information
is essential for deciding the number of licenses that NCSA must purchase
every year, for the use of these commercial packages.
If you have any questions about the information on this page, please email
flow@ncsa.uiuc.edu.
Gridgen is a grid generation software that can be used to generate
structured and unstructured grids. The package has the ability to generate
grids in a variety of formats. This makes it useful if one is interested
in generating grids that need to be used by Fluent and GASP (one does not
have to go thru the process of generating a grid file for fluent and redoing
the same thing for GASP (or for that matter any other solver)).
The current version of Gridgen is
15.16 on the
SGI Altix UV (Ember).
