Andrew File System - Versions

AFS Versions

Here is a list of the different versions of AFS we have had at NCSA and what platforms for each version. You can use this list to determine how current the version you are using is. You can run the command "strings /usr/vice/etc/afsd | grep Base", which will list the version. You can also run the script "/afs/ncsa/common/bin/afs_version", which will compare your version to see if it is the most recent, along with doing a few other checks to see if things are set up correctly.

When new versions are released, these are the current platforms that we update:

  • hp_ux102
  • hp_ux110
  • sgi_62
  • sgi_63
  • sgi_64
  • sgi_65
  • sun4x_55
  • sun4x_56
  • sun4x_57
  • i386_linux22
  • i386_nt40
If there is a platform which you need that is not listed above then contact afs@ncsa.uiuc.edu and we can see if it is available.
