Research Programmer

Innovative Software and Data Analysis Group

Aid in cyberinfrastructure development creating research oriented scientific software involving computer graphics and/or computer vision (i.e., image analysis). Conduct cyberinfrastructure research and development. Represent the group at meetings, giving presentations at conferences or other venues, and contributing to publications and grant proposals. Design new approaches and techniques for project specific problems. Evaluate, install, port and support software on a variety of platforms. Publish and present results of research at national and international conferences. Understand and articulate the strengths and weaknesses between varieties of novel approaches to problems. Track research activity in cyberinfrastructure, computer vision and high performance computing.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related.
  • One year experience as a software developer, systems engineer, or related, which includes software development, programming in Java and C/C++, computer graphics and/or computer vision, development on Linux, and writing software for image processing or to render/manipulate 3D data.
