OpenStack Cloud

OpenStack is a cloud operating system that controls pools of compute, storage, and networking resources. It is managed through a web-based dashboard that allows users to provision resources on demand, without administrator's involvement. ISL's deployment of eight's OpenStack release, named Havana, consists of two controller nodes running basic management and networking services, storage node serving volumes to VMs, and 32 nodes for running virtual machines. Currently this platform is used by a variety of projects for small-scale development and cloud technology evaluation. Users can configure VMs with an assortment of OSs, user-specified storage volumes, and a pool of floating IP addresses.
