NCSA Mosaic has been awarded the 1994 MacUser-ZiffNet/Mac Shareware Award for Telecommunications during the Third Annual MacUser/Ziff-Davis Interactive Shareware Awards ceremony at the August 3rd Macworld Expo in Boston.
The 1994 Dvorak PC Telecommunications Excellence Award for Outstanding Multimedia Internet Utility
John Dvorak and Dennis Hayes presented the 1994 Dvorak PC Telecommunications Excellence Award for Outstanding Multimedia Internet Utility to NCSA Mosaic on Saturday, August 20th, 1994, in Atlanta, GA.
The Dvorak PC Telecommunications Excellence Awards are presented by Mr. Dvorak and Hayes Microcomputer Products to "pioneers whose vision and commitment to telecommunications and online activities have helped increase the vibrant, expanding network of ideas and information that exists today." Accepting the award were five representative members of the NCSA Mosaic staff (Larry Jackson, Briand Sanderson, Terry MacLaren, Kim Stephenson, and Alan Braverman) as well as three former developers (Marc Andreesen and Eric Bina of Netscape Communications Corp., and Chris Wilson of Spry, Inc.).
PC Computing MVP 1994Online Services
NCSA Mosaic won a "Most Valuable Product" award from PC Computing magazine (a Ziff-Davis publication) Sunday evening November 13th in a ceremony at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, NV, during the annual COMDEX convention.
The award to NCSA Mosaic is for the Most Valuable Product in the Communications/Network group, Online Services category. The award was presented by John Montgomery and Yael Li-Ron, both Senior Editors with PC Computing. Other finalists in this category were America Online, Compuserve, and Netcom Online Communications Services' NetCruiser.
PC Magazine Technical Excellence 1994Communications Software Category
PC Magazine (a Ziff-Davis publication) has named NCSA Mosaic as their choice for the 1994 PC Magazine Technical Excellence award in the Communications Software category. The award was presented by Mr. Rick Ayre, Executive Editor, and Mr. Nick Stam, Technical Director for Hardware at PC Magazine Labs, at the eleventh annual awards ceremony on November 14th in Las Vegas, NV, in connection with the COMDEX convention.

PC Magazine, U.K. (a Ziff-Davis U.K. Limited publication) has named NCSA Mosaic 2.0 as their choice for the 1994 Best Client Product Award. The award was presented by Mr. Rick Ayre, Executive Editor, and Mr. Andy Redfern, Editor-in-Chief, and Mr. Edward Henning, Director of ZD Labs Europe, at the third annual awards ceremony on November 22nd in London, England. The award was accepted for NCSA by Mr. Dave Raggett of Hewlett-Packard.

IndustryWeek magazine has named NCSA Mosaic as their choice for the 1994 Technology of the Year Award. This second annual award was presented to the NCSA developers by Mr. Charles Day, Editor-in-Chief, at a ceremony on the campus of the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign.

The Berkeley Macintosh User's Group (BMUG)the largest of the Mac Users Groups, with about 12,000 membershas awarded NCSA and the University of Illinois one of their "Fall 1994 Choice Product" awards. The award for NCSA Mosaic was presented at the recent Macworld convention in Boston.
