NCSA visualization is working with E. Mehnert (PI Valocchi) to visualize data from CO2 storage modeling simulations. Data consists of 14 different scalar variables including pressure, temperature, gas saturation, salt/water/CO2 concentrations, and gas/liquid density. The simulation outputs over one million data locations from an interconnected, irregular grid positioned over regions of Illinois and Indiana. An initial visualization below shows pressure as color-mapped points with shadow projections within the geographic bounds rendered with a custom visualization and rendering system.
