June workshop promotes data center innovation, energy efficiency

Seats are filling quickly for the Building the Data Center of the Future 2nd Biennial Workshop: HPC Data Centers, June 23-24, 2010, at the I-Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Illinois. Keynote speakers Ed Seminaro, chief architect of POWER HPC servers at IBM, and David Dibble, executive vice president of service engineering & operations at Yahoo!, are joined by other outstanding speakers involved with designing and operating HPC data centers who will share the innovative solutions that are ensuring that high-performance computing environments are fault-tolerant, flexible, scalable, easy to maintain, cost-effective, and meet the government's new Energy Star requirements for data centers.
Plus you'll get an up-close look at the National Petascale Computing Facility. NPCF is the future home of Blue Waters, the nation's first sustained-petascale computer for open scientific research. When it comes on line in 2011, the country's researchers will have access to a supercomputer capable of handling a quadrillion calculations per second.
