Joint Laboratory on Petascale Computing to hold workshop Nov. 22-24

The Joint Laboratory on Petascale Computing, a collaboration between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and France’s INRIA computer science institute, will hold a workshop Nov. 22-24 at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications to explore research problems related to post-petascale and exascale supercomputers and to present results of their joint work.

The workshop is open to Illinois and INRIA faculty, researchers, engineers, and students who want to learn more about petascale and exascale computing. Technical sessions will focus on exascale research, petascale applications, parallel programming (hybrid, hierarchical, heterogeneous), resilience, numerical algorithms and libraries, and I/O. Other potential topics of collaboration also will be presented and discussed.

For more information, including a detailed agenda and online registration, see http://jointlab.ncsa.illinois.edu/events/workshop4/.

This workshop is sponsored by INRIA, University of Illinois, NCSA and the French ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
