Version 2.1 of NCSA Polyglot released


The Innovative Software and Data Analysis Division at NCSA has released version 2.1 of NCSA Polyglot, a distributed and highly extensible framework for file format conversions. New features include:

  • emphasis on REST interface
  • re-architecture based on RabbitMQ for Software Server discovery and distribution of jobs
  • stateless head node for robustness and better scalability
  • all files are now passed around as URLs to eliminate the copying of files when possible
  • added support for container formats
  • added support for double formats
  • added DFDL examples
  • added basic authentication
  • added integration tests
  • numerous bug fixes
