From the Director

Valued partners and collaborators,

NCSA is doing our part to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees and the community. Therefore, we have taken the necessary steps to help minimize the risk of infection, including transitioning our staff to working remotely. These measures are to protect our team and to practice the social distancing advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Despite these extraordinary circumstances, NCSA and the National Petascale Computing Facility (NPCF) remain fully operational and will continue to provide resources, services, and research support to our partners. We will adhere to our standard interactions, maintenance practices, and schedules. Furthermore, we will continue to monitor and adjust operations so NPCF’s full capabilities remain available. Please contact us for support using the established contacts and channels for your resource needs.

NCSA will follow the remote-work protocol mandated by the University of Illinois until the restrictions are lifted. In the event there is a significant change that affects our ability to provide services, we will be sure to inform our partners.

We are grateful for your understanding, support, and continued scientific partnership during these unprecedented times.

William (Bill) Gropp
Director and Chief Scientist, NCSA
