Illinois Computes

Accelerate Your Research

The National Center for Supercomputing Applications is proud to launch Illinois Computes, a program offering computing and data storage resources, technical expertise and support services to researchers from domains across the UIUC campus* who also may have a broad range of needs, whether they be simple or more complex.

Through a combined five-year, $50 million commitment from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and U of I System, NCSA is offering considerable computing and consulting resources to researchers. With feedback from researchers, we’ll apply funding where it’s most needed to best meet campus’ computing demands. Illinois Computes makes access to our computing systems, interdisciplinary and technical knowledge, and support infrastructure easy to obtain.

*Illinois Computes services will be available across the University of Illinois System, Summer 2023.

Getting Started With Illinois Computes

How do researchers get resources now? If you’re ready to jump in:

  1. Get an NCSA identity account (Kerberos) or reset your account credentials here
  2. Use your NCSA identity to log into XRAS
  3. Select “Illinois Computes Pilot Program”
    • Then select which computing, storage and/or consulting resources you are interested in using from the list of options
    • Don’t know what you need or need help? Select “NCSA Consulting Services.”

We’re aiming to remove barriers to accessing our growing research computing cyberinfrastructure and world-class staff to provide those in normally atypical domains access to new tools that will further their innovative and novel work.
